Travel Tips

  1. Contact others who are travelling from the same country as you get to know them and arrange to travel together
  2. If you are disabled ensure you tell the Workshop Director - Sonia Thompson what your needs are as soon as possible. We can make arrangements for your accommodation, food, travel and if you need extra support from a helper then we can arrange that too.
  3. Make sure you passport is up to date and can allow you to travel to the UK(check with the British Embassy in your country)
  4. We will reimburse the cost of your travel when you arrive so please bring all receipts with you. There are a number of cheap flight providers that travel straight to East Midlands airport.
  5. Keep the details of the place you will be staying and key contact details with you. If you leave this behind - if you travel with others someone within the group will have them
  6. The UK does not use Euros so you will need to change your money to English pounds
  7. Arrange your travel insurance before hand and complete the European Insurance (details). Bring the documents with you.

Welcome to Grundtvig in Derby UK 2011

Dear Participant,

Welcome to Grundtvig in Derby 2011 and congratulations for choosing to come along to our exciting and informative workshop. Trasnformations positively welcomes people from diverse backgrounds and have made special arrangements for disabled people.

Until July next year we will be working together to prepare for the visit.

We have set up this blog so that you can ask questions, receive information and get to know about each other, to find out about the city and learn about what will be on offer during you stay in the UK. The workshop has been designed to be participative and we will encourage everyone to share aspects of their culture.

For many of you this will be your first time travelling to another country and so we are working hard to make your visit as stress free and enjoyable as possible.

We are looking forward to learning together and hope that you will have a wonderful time in July next year.

Kind regards

Sonia
